Hi There
Glad to see someone started a thread on the Clydesdale Bank.
We have sent our request for our charges over the last six years using form from library. THIS MORNING we got a letter in return -

We refer to your recent letter requesting information held by the Bank under the terms of the Data Protection Act and note that you have paid the £10 fee.

We confirm that we shall be able to provide you with copies of your bank statements covering the last 6 years under the right of access under the Data Protection Act 1998.

Within the terms of the Act we have 40 days in which to provide you with the information we hold.

We also note your request for disclosure of data relating to manual intervention on your account. This is not data which you are entitled to receive under a data subject access request and accordingly no such disclosure will be made,

We will forward the information to you as soon as possible, should you require any further assistance please contact your branch.

Now to me they are refusing certain info can anyone advise whether i need to respond to this or is it Unimportant
Thanks in Advance
Wonderful site

Hiya, sorry I've just noticed your thread.

I got a similar response & I'm considering whether or not a second complaint to the Information Commissioners Office about them is in order.

They're claim that we're not entitled to details about Manual Intervention are surely rubbish (they lied about the details covered under the Data Protection Act at 1st- see my thread JMio Vs Clydesdale Bank), so I've little doubt they'd try the same with this.

That said, tot up the charges & send them a Prelim Letter to ask for them back in the meantime.

Oh, and keep us posted - help is at hand if you need it!

They always seem to drag it out to the last minute, you're statements will arrive - if they're even so much as a day late though, lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioners Office - (Feel free to PM me for a hand with this if needs be).

Don't know if any of you are aware of this, but, according to this is money's site:

ABBEY STILL TOPS BAD BANK LEAGUE

A MONTH into the Daily Mail's Fair Play On Charges campaign, banking complaints from readers are still flooding in. While Abbey keeps the top spot in our Bad Banks League, its lead has been cut by the chasing three, while Lloyds TSB has overtaken HSBC for fifth place with a sudden wave of complaints in the last week.

It seems banks are getting wise to clued-up customers and are becoming increasingly stubborn when they receive formal letters arguing that charges are too high.

They have had to pay out so regularly that now customers are having to resort to the final straw - filing a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman Service or the small claims court in order to reclaim all the charges.

Persistence is the key. Do not be put off by the 'legalese' and jargon the bank will quote at you. And do not just accept the first offer that the bank gives you. One reader used the complaint letter we put on Financial News, City News, Mortgages, Loans, Savings, Pensions, Market Reports | This is Money to reclaim £550 in charges accrued over six years with her bank. She was offered £250 straight away, said this was not acceptable and accepted £300 to settle the case. She says: 'I agree that I failed to fight a good fight and gave out on an offer rather than pursuing it to the end.'

And credit must go to Northern Rock, Norwich & Peterborough, Smile, Leeds BS, Cumberland BS, Coventry BS and Clydesdale Bank, about whom we have not received a single complaint....

Just thought you might be interested!

Barclaycard - 142.88 incl interest due WON BY DEFAULT as they didn't even bother entering a defence. Barclaycard paid up £184.88.

MBNA - Concluded £634.31
Capital One Concluded £148
Kinda disappointed I've no more banks to go after now...
