Bank of Scotland gets Real-Time Confirmations
HBOS plc, the bank created by the 2001 merger of the Halifax Group and The Bank of Scotland, has selected City Networks e-Confirmation Matching (eTRAM) product for domestic inter-branch transactions, which average 500 to 1,000 per day. The enhancement ensures that all parties have access to real-time confirmation/affirmation and enables the banks treasury department to track the status of the confirmations. Prior to selecting the City Networks product, HBOS was faxing or posting confirmations. Now, the bank can view confirmations via a Web browser, which translates into the elimination of tangible remote IT overheads and additional branch software.
Elliot Witherow, head of business support, operations at HBOS Treasury Services, said that in addition to the obvious Web efficiencies, eTRAM is a component of straight-through processing.
