Default what charges are unlawful ?

Just about to nip down to sheriff court with my small claim. Just looking through some last minute stuff.

Some of the £30 charges are actually for dd or SO or cheques that they did not return but actually paid even though i didnt have money or put me over limit (nice of them eh) if they did 3 in a day it made them £90.

Are these charges unlawful in the same category as the returned ones ?

And i guess you cannot claim back all the £28 for going over overdraft limit because it was your decision to write the cheque or sign the DD.

Surely though ( and i play devils advocate) here cause i have been fighting with banks for years on this, i am using their money ie overdraft etc to fund my stuff so all they can claim is some interest and what it actually costs to send letter or return dd etc etc

Your bank owes you an awful lot more money than you realise See here

To send a letter(price of a stamp, paper, envelope, maybe 5 minutes to type letter) £28 no chance. If you read the threads you will see all unarranged borrowing fees card misuse deliberate or otherwise do not reflect the true cost and so are unlawful and recoverable by you. Try not to do yourself out of money by rationalising what we(I work for a Bank) do.
