Default Charged for undilivered item

I have searched the internet for a SONY DVD portable player, found a cheap offer and payed over the internet.
They said on the site dilivery in 3 days which I thought would be good I would be in to recieve.
They acknowledged payment and then it was delayed in sending so it was attempted delivery by courier when I wasnt in.
Got the card, got in touch to redeliver Thurs which was next time I would be in.
The courier said it could not rearange without the suppliers say so.
I emailed the supplier and then nothing. I checked with the courier they said they had been told by the supplier to return it.
I checked with the supplier over the phone, they where adamant that they had tried to deliver twice and their policy was therefore to charge for delivery. They said I was lying when I said it was only attempted once.
I do have an email from the courier stating that the supplier said they could not deliver a second time because the supplier told them to return it.
I have written to the supplier complaining and they have not replied, I sent another letter (recorded delivery) stating that I want a complaint procedure and if they do not reply within 8 weeks I would be contacting the relevant regulatory organisations. I have not recieved any reply.
Has anyone got any info on who I should contact and how.
I was thinking of the Office of Fair Trading.
Any advice greatfully received.

I have since bought the same item from another outlet with no problem and it was cheaper by a tenner.
Just want my charge for delivery back from the other place.

Sorry I was rushing out earlier I could not answer your question so I "Bumped".
This moves your thread from where it is in the queue back to the top again, and prevents it getting lost, this a link to show how http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...ml#post1323268

If you had not seen "Bump" for a few days, your reply would have done the same and moved up your thread, actually I am surprised that one of our retail experts haven't picked it up yet.

Regards

Andy
