 Rent Arrears
April 2006 i moved home,i was living in a housing association flat,i had sent a months notice by letter.I then received a phone call from the warden stating they never received my months notice.She said i would have to send another months notice even though i had moved and i posted the keys back also,as there was no one to hand them to as it was on a sunday i moved,and the lazy warden should of come to check the flat and get keys,and i think thats why they never received my letter.I never heard anything back from them.They must of got the keys as she would of telephoned me.Three weeks ago i receive a letter from DCA threatening to cease goods if i dont pay rent £250,this is for rent arrears for the months notice they said they had not received.I contacted housing association and they said they would look into it,i said i was disputing it ,and why did they get a DCA involved who are keep sending letters every other day,and letters for doorstop cllection.The HA have sent letter to say that the DCA are now dealing with it and that i will get a letter with the final end date on the previous property.We are living in sheltered housing and it will be embarrassing if they come round.My partner is on a pension which he claims for me,we dont have any spare money.Any one have any thoughts on what i can do.If the HA has been writing to me why should the DCA be involved even though ive told them im dealing with HA.Thanks |
