Default Credit checks/CCJ's

Hi,

Can anyone help me with a query.

I have found a letting agent that does not do a credit check, but they take up references with the bank and employers.

Question is will they still find out I have a CCJ.

Many Thanks

Not the bank I am with now, it was a previous bank. They have only asked for my current bank details.

Thanks

I don't see how they could find out without a credit check.

Thank you Knoxvillain.

They did tell me they don't do a credit check.

I won't sleep easy though until they come back to me.

We went through the exact same thing so I can completely sympathise. My fiancee and I applied for a house for when we're married and I know I have 2 defaults and probably wouldn't pass the credit check so had to go through references and stuff and it took 3 weeks to sort. We only found out about 2 days before we were due to move. hope it works out for you. Keep us posted.

Hi,

Just thought I would keep you all posted on current situation. Moved into rented accomodation a couple of weeks ago. Letting agency did not do a credit check so didn't find out about the CCJ. They took up Employers reference which was fine and a bank reference which was the one I was worried about, I haven't been with my current bank for very long and about 10 months ago when I was going through relationship breakup I had a couple of direct debits which were refused, but although I had to have a guarantor everything went through no problem. Now I have my own space and not living with family.

thanks for the update; that's great!
It's nice to hear from people; often they ask, they read the suggestions and then...they disappear! we don't know if its something we said...lol
