Default landlord being taken for repossession today!

please could someone help? our story starts back in november '06. we rented a house that we was led to believe was for a very long let, three years later we recieved a call from an estate agent asking to make an appt. to measure up as the landlord was selling! we had not recieved a notice to quit at this time and it was very distressing! we accepted this due to other personal problems including two deaths. we found another property and was due to move on the 12th of january '07. we arrived at the office on the morning and was told we had to wait another week as the landlord was not ready! we did this as we had no other choice, bearing in mind that my three kids toys were all packed and we had a van booked . we finally moved on the 19th and were happy with the house, settling in very easy. on the 8th of february we recieved a letter from a solicitor stating that the landlord was being taken to court on the 8th of march, TODAY! for repossession! the agents have contacted the landlord and he said its sorted, but its not! its still going to court and we are scared! the landlord is still recieving letters at our address and is not collectingit from the agent! where do we stand?! HELP!

Angry Re: landlord being taken for repossession today!

well just to update you all on our problem! seemed that the repossession order was suspended by the mortgage company, and we were just relaxing, untill we had a knock on the door. there standing was a bailiff, from a SECOND party, as the landlord has a loan secured on the house too! so maybe we werent comfy after all! we spoke to the gentleman about the problem, even though we couldent find much out because of data protection! he said that the landlord, who nobody could find, didnt even inform mortgage comp that he was subletting! well we made a few calls to solicitors, letting agents and found out that all you need to rent your house, is a utility bill and keys!!! so the tennants get checked for everything, finances, references, bank accounts and credit, but the landlord doesent get checked at all! so how unfair is that, putting families and thier money at risk of losing the roof over thier head through repossession, or worse.
