References from letting agent to employer Does anyone have any knowledge of this?
I signed an application form stating that the Estate Agents, acting on behalf of who I hope to be my future landlord, can request basically whatever references they like from my employer.
In the reference request my employer received, the wording includes "and your employees trustworthiness in the way of business to the extent of £x per calendar month".
In stating this, have the Estate Agents breached Data Protection? Surely they should be requesting information and making judgements themselves, rather than giving information and requesting my employers judgement.
I'm a little annoyed that the Estate Agents have revealed this information to my employer, but if it's ok, because I signed the authorisation, then I'm happy.
Just want to know what is correct. |
