Default To prosecute or not??? Advice needed!!!

Howdie all!

we wish to prosecute our former landlady and we sent her an LBA in the address stated in the contract (all actions were taken to resolve the case out of court). Unfortunatelly the letter came back unopened. In the house we rented we kept receiving all her post as she lives in spain. Can we prosecute her or not? If so which address do we provide in the court form, the one in the contract or the one we used to live in? I made a search and found the title number of the property registered in her name (the house we used to live in)...She does not respond to our emails requesting for her address, nor to any other emails..Basically she has done a runner with £1200...I am beginning to think that we have lost our money and there is nothing we can do..If that is the case any advice on pranks we can do to her????

If she is abroad, she MUST by LAW have an address in England where papers can be served. Did you rent from her directly, or through a letting agent? How long is it since the tenancy ended?

We rented the flat directly by her....All communication throughout the tenancy was with her "niece".... I looked up the landlady's name in the directorate and indeed the property is registered in her name. As I said all their post arrived in our former address and we passed it on to a neighbour to direct it to them in spain, so I assume that this is her address and that the one in the tenancy agreement was false. Do we direct the papers in our former address (the one that is registered in her name?).
We also know that they hold a joined bank account. Is there a way to retrieve information from that?
Is there realistically any chance that we get the money back? Say the court rules in our favour, how can we or the court possibly enforce an order to somebody who is out of the country?
Thanks in advance for all help throughout.

ps. we ended the tenancy in August
