| | Basic Account Customer | NOT Name & Shame - xxxxx & xxxx, E Yorks Has anybody else had dealings with [edited: these are libellous comments]
I rented a house through them and was totally ripped off, even though I was there less than a year.
I was told before I moved in that the landlord was going to fit new carpets as the old ones were stained and falling apart. This never happened and I was charged for cleaning the carpets that I would have cleaned myself if I'd known they were going to stay down for the next tennant.
Another nasty trick they played on me was telling me I had to move out, then telling me I could stay and then, after I had written to them telling them the date I was leaving, I was taken to court to get an eviction notice. The court totally ignored my defence and I ended up paying £150 for an eviction order against me for after I was already moving out!
The final nasty trick was telling me they needed to do an inventory of the property as they hadn't managed to do this before I moved in and the next thing I knew, pieces of my furniture and my curtains were listed on their website as part of the fixtures and fittings for the house, which was up for rent again.
Just letting you know that renting through them is an expensive business, I lost most of my deposit to them because of their nasty tricks.
