Can the landlord kick us out

MY new job have messed up my hours and I got paid less then I though.

This now means my rent is short. My rent is £550 a month but I can only pay £425. This leaves us with a bit left over to. My housing benefit is still in the process of getting decided. Its been like this for over a month now because they keep asking for further info so when they receive that it takes up to another 28 days.

Hopefully this should be sorted soon and a payment will be on the way out.

I am prepared to pay my landlords fees if any occur but just worried he would turf us out.

I have been a tenant since August 2006 and was only short once. I repaid the amount within 2 weeks and also his bank charges on top

Any advice is appreciated

How do your nomally pay the rent, if your account has insufficient funds with a direct debit is set up, they may not pay it and charge you for the privilege.

I can't see the landlord turfing you out, they would need to apply to the courts, could you not telephone and explain the situation.

If your landlord doesnt have the reserves to cover a £125 shortfall for a week or two then he is the one in serious trouble, not you! I quick phone call to let him know the situation (these things do happen) as suggested should do the trick. I think he would rather have a £100 or so one or two weeks late than a lengthy void lossing £100s.
