Default If my room is being re-let do they need to give me notice of viewings?

I signed up to a six month minimum contract for a room in a houseshare where each individual has a seperate agreement with the landlord. I have handed in my notice to move out of the property on the 25th Jan and my room will be re-let after this date.

I'm concerned to hear that the letting agency that took over the management of the house apparently showed somebody round my room today without any form of notice given to me. I was under the impression that they had to give 24 hours notice before entering my room and i'm really unhappy that my privacy has been unknowingly invaded.

I've had a look through shelter and i can't find any specific advice on this subject and the original contract i signed had only the following clause in it relating to this:-

I realise that the 'wherever practicable' is a bit of a weasel word but bearing in mind that viewing appointments have to be arranged and they have my mobile number i believe that i should have been informed about this in advance. What are my rights in this regard as i am really unhappy with the thought that this could be happening every day!

1.0 The Landlord or the Landlord’s Agents reserves the right to enter the property at any time to make general inspection or necessary repairs. Where it is necessary to enter a Tenants personal accommodation prior notification will be given wherever practicable.

You can prevent access, and they certainly do need to give notice of viewings. That term is pretty much unenforceable - and anyway, it is not "neccessary" to enter in order to do a viewing, even if the term was enforceable.
