I am going to start a claim against my landlords as they failed to adhere to the T.D.S. One of my landlords is very aggressive and constantly calls us and leave horrible messages; since we have moved out they don't know where we live and I would like to keep it that way. Is their anyway I can ask the courts to keep my address confidential?

Thanks

Alison 82,

In reply to your post and in my view:

1.The best thing to do is get an accomodation address. It does not cost much and your landlord will not know where you live.

2.You could even get an accomodation address in a different town/city to where you live and pay the accomodation address folks fees for forwarding your post.Your landlord would never know where you have to.

Anyway,I hope you find this information useful.

If you need any more help, just ask.

Keep us posted.

All the best!

Hi thanks

I finally got through to the courts and they told me I can writ to the judge and ask them to keep my address confidential but I will need to pay an extra £40, I think I will do this.

I won't be starting my claim until early January

Read this thread: http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...it-scheme.html

I feel you are probably wasting your £40.

It is unlikely that the Judge will allow you to withhold your address if you choose to sue, since it will probably appear to him, from the facts which you have posted here, that you do not have a good enough reason for doing so.

Unless you have additional facts or details which you have failed to mention, there seems little likelihood of your application to withhold your address succeeding.

The suggestion of arranging an accomodation or "forwarding" address does, on the whole, seem to have a better chance. But don't tell the court that it's only an accomodation address!
