Hello All, My current Landlord is selling the Apartment we rent, it is coming to the end of our tenancy so i have been searching for a new apartment. To cut a long story short I found a property paid a £660 holding deposit. I didn't sign any contract, I didn't even go through with the referencing. From the day the Landlord excepted our offer it was only held for 2 days. My Current Landlord informed me that he didn't expect me to move out until he found a buyer , and as i have 2 young children i was happier to stay where i am for as long as possible, so i informed the agency and asked for my holding deposit back! They told me i was not entitled to it back unless they found someone to rent the property before the date i was expected to move in (28th august) My question is, can they do that? I have looked on ARLA's website but it doesn't make it very clear what my rights are! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You in advance
