Hi,
I had a EuroStar return ticket London-Brussels. Due to the fire incident in the tunnel, I called their customer service and asked them to cancel only ONE-WAY part of the journey from London-Brussels leaving the return ticket intact. The guy on the phone told me that only one-way has been cancelled.
However, on the day of the return journey when I turned up at the station, I discovered that both legs of the journey had been cancelled!!!
This put me in a spot of bother, and I had to rush around to discover other means of getting back. Finally I managed to grab one of the last 3 tickets left on a EuroLines bus service (which took me al of 9 hours to get back to London instead of the 2 hours the train would have taken). It was all the more worrying for me because it was the last day of my visa and it was imperative that I leave the Schengen zone on that day (hate to think what might have happened if I hadnt managed to get a return otion).
Can I ask EuroStar for compensation for the bus ticket I was forced to buy due to their mistake? I do not know if the
phone call I made to them was recorded or not, so I might not have proof that I asked them to cancel one-way while they ended up cancelling both ways...
Any help will be appreciated!!
Thanks,
Greg
