Hi

Just wondering if anybody can help?

I phoned the tax credits renewal people on 29/04/2010 to renew my claim.

I had to reduce my estimated income by almost half as I wasn't aware at the time I placed my estimated income for 2009/2010 that smp was deducted from my total income at a rate of £100 per week of being paid smp (ie because i took 39 weeks maternity leave, I subtracted £3900 from my earnings as an employee).

Despite numerous phone calls, my claim has not been finalised and each time I phone I am told not to worry because the deficit works in my favour...

So, I was just wondering when I can expect to hear from them with a finalised award for 2009/2010 and an award notice for 2010/2011.

Any advice would be most welcome...

Hiya. There is a new renewal process this year which is causing many renewals to not be processed as quickly as usual. Try not to be concerned that yours hasnt gone through yet, we (the Helpline staff) have been assured they will all process around 31st July and the paperwork should be out within 2 wks after :|

Ours went though in 2 weeks and it was done via post.

Finally if you succeed with your claim please consider a donation to consumer action group as those donations keep this site alive.

R.I.P BOB aka ROOSTER-UK you have always been a Gent on these boards and you will be remembered for that.

thanks...

i phoned again today and FINALLY spoke to somebody helpful!

she asked me if i had had a letter from a specialist department(?), (which i haven't) then popped me on hold.

came back on and told me that as she could see I had been waiting a while she would escalate my claim as it was just in a pile of work...

hopefully should receive something in the next week as more than anything, am waiting for the prescription exemption to come through so can go collect medication (chemist wouldn't let me do it with provisional award notice as suggested by helpful lady today)

i'll just wait and see eh? but at least now i'm living in hope...
