Default What are my rights in this situation?

Ok, so almost a year ago i bought an Acer 9300 from PC world for around £500, and for a student this is alot of money. I have had nothing but problems since then and now my computer will not even turn on long enough for acer to boot let alone windows. It's been sent off to Acer before, just a month ago, due to the jack in the charger port snapping off. I have roughly 20 days left of my warranty and if i have any more problems with it (which is very likely) i am gonna have basically lost that money and be paying put more either for a new computer or repairs.
Is there anyway I could get PC world to consider giving me a refund because I honestly do not think that this product is good enough quality for what I have paid and would like to get it all sorted once and for all.
Any help or advice would be appreciated!

I'm sorry I don't know alot about waranties but there is info around this site that can help

This would seem to relate to your situation
Are we paying through the nose for unnecessary warranties? - desensitising the Consum

and this one
Sale of Goods- basic guide to rights and obligations

I have had alot of trouble with a washing machine and it broke around 4 times in the first year. As it was getting to the end of the warranty and was broken again I wrote to Comet and expressed my concern and requested they extend the warranty for free so they wrote back confirming they would give us a years free insurance cover (I didn't know back then that I should be covered anyway). It shows its worth complaining though - so I would suggest you write to them!

Keep us informed with how you get on

With PCWorld you have NO RIGHTS WHAT SO EVER.

Or so PCWorld would like you to think, you have every right available to you.

Do you recall the exact date or close enough month/year? if it is under 12 month old the store has to repair it at no cost, if it is a fault.

The Sale and Supply of Goods Act 1994 gives you numerious rights, write them a letter, send it to the store and also CC a copy to DSG (Dixons Stores Group) this is PCWorlds headoffice.

Be prepaired for a long fight though, it will most likely be not easy what so ever, numerious people have similar woes with PCWorld/Currys/Dixons as yourself.

And don't expect a refund what so ever from them, unless you get a district judge to order them to do so

Sorry for the negative post, but its not going to be easy for you.
