Seems that PC World have been fined for giving this guy a default - worth reading.

Excellent - I am aware that it only applies to scottish law, but very interesting for anyone who has had a default incorrectly placed against them.

Wow - what an excellent case, and one that demonstrates the snowball effect that advers credit ratings can have.

The bit that surprises me most is that this guy was so "financially disciplined" to keep track of each and every detail. That he even proved how much "profit" was lost by not being able to buy, then sell the property in Spain takes the biscuit.

We need a similar case/judgement to be made in the English courts...then perhaps the credit companies, and the CRAs will start to sit up and take a bit more notice...

If the principles are compatible (the legislation is the same) then could it not apply in England as well?
