On the plus side it is very stable but have seen BSOD twice already, but was being pushed to the limit at the time
In terms of the laptops....
The D2200 is Wireless, better chipset, and has additional features such as card reader |

| | Basic Account Customer | Re: What's the difference, beside the price- please help IT illeterate! Yes, the price difference is due to a better processor, and the better version of Vista in the more expensive model.
However, looking at your daughters needs, you dont need to pay more for a better processor.
Dell are still shipping some models with XP rather than vista, so that makes more sense as xp wil run well on a machine with 1GB(1024MB) memory.
A vista machine, as suggested, should have at least 2GB RAM memory, also, the home basic version of Vista isnt really worth considering as it does not feature many things that are included in home premium.
So in summary, I would go for a Dell XP macine running XP if you want value for money, or if you want a vista machine you should look for somthing with more RAM (atleast 2 GB) running vista premium rather than basic. |

| | Platinum Account Customer | What's the difference, beside the price- please help IT illeterate! Guys, I know a lot of stuff, but my small feeble female brain cannot comprehend the difference between this: Notino W5700P-2250
and this: Notino D2200_01
Gotta buy for teenage daughters, not hoping for a gamer machine but they do chat and store a lot of music.
Why the difference in prices- answers in "idiot-proof" language, please.
Many thanks! |
