| | Basic Account Customer | reclaiming ppi Hi Everyone,
We took out a Egg Credit Card in 2003, and transferred over £15000 into it with the 9 months 0% offer and apparently i ticked a box or signed an agreement and added PPI to it. Since then the PPI had added upto approx. £4000.
I did request the agreement was sent to me which showed that i accepted the PPI but i received a 2 page agreement and no mention of PPI at all! I signed and sent the agreement back on 10/12/03. Have asked for the full agreement and awaiting response from Egg.
The 2 page agreement they sent me was similar to what "zubo v Egg" received: Zubo v Egg
Anyone had success in claiming back the "Repayment Protector" on their Egg Card?
I've been told on other forums that you can't simply claim back the ppi unles it has been mis-sold, as it has been 4 years and i should have known better! (i'm like all those other people who don't check their statements thoroughly ). Another comment was "Just because you didnt use the insurance did not mean you can get the money back", are they right?
Would appreciate any advice you can give.
Thanks.

Glad to see you have started your own thread on here. Eh!! your a bit of a whizz with the pasting of the links
The process of recliaming back your ppi, is just like reclaiming back your bank charges, but it is not as well trodden a path. I can take a few weeks and even up to having to wait for a court date a few months down the line
So pace yourself, we are not in a race. Take your time, get your info and then get them.
Here is your first hurdle. they won't ID. I had this from hfc. I thinks its like the start of their bullying, and their defensive tactics. It up to you what you do, you can argure and refuse to give them your ID. Or just send your ID with a little letter telling them how ridiculus they are ( keeping a copy for your file)
I sent this: Thank you your letter dated 19th April 2007 requesting a copy of my driving licence or passport as identification, before you can release the information that you hold regarding the above account. I find it unbelievable that you require this extra information as proof of my identity. In the past you have sent all correspondence to myself by my postal address without this extra information.
Please find enclosed a copy of my driving licence.
I look forward to receiving my account information.
Once you have got your Subject Access Request get the information you need (Be warned they may not send you everything? and you will have to keep asking.)
You can get to work on the getting it back bit

| | Basic Account Customer | Re: reclaiming ppi from egg thanks for the tips, hellhasnofury!
Should i only be looking at the PPI with Egg, or are there other things i can claim back, such as charges, interest, etc? I don't think i've ever missed a payment with them, basically just took the 9 months 0% offer.
they're going to send out a questionnaire for me to fill in and send back with ID, will add your letter when i do! |

Calm down, we are not in a race Just pace yourself please.
If you have late payment charges, penality charges, I feel that should be one claim.
The refund of the ppi should be another.
Interest on what the charges? yes
Interest on the ppi yes
What is this questionaire they want you to fill out, can you explain more?
Have you sent a S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) if not do so asap You need the information as ammunition |

Only mention of ppi is just the following text in the "for office use only" section "Accident, Sickness, Unemployment & Life". There's no tickbox and i don't remember typing in the above information.
They've also now scheduled the ppi for cancellation. They also said a letter is in the post requesting ID, this has been in the post since 21st June. What do you think? Next step? | Hello Jimmy,
They are giving you the run a round I see.
You have sent the Subject Access Request and you are now counting down the 40days yeh
Maybe sent them a non=compliance letter telling how many days they have left. find on in the bank template sticky.
According to your ????credit agreement they did not give you an option, did they.
Keep us posted |

This was their latest response:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
As soon as we have received your payment and identification document we'll start processing your request and you'll get your information within 40 days of us receiving those documents.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
So, should i send them a non-complience letter or do i need to post them a Subject Access Request first? | Hello Jimmy,
What did you send them in the secure message???
I personally would send them a letter for the full Subject Access Request and the £10.00 cheque and some ID to get the ball rolling.
The ID thing is up to you, you can argue that you don't need to send it.
I sent this letter
