Default ppi refund without even asking???

i had a loan which i ended early , i paid the ppi etc,

i took out the loan even though im a housewife, ovioulsy i was not entitled to ppi,

anyways i didnt think anything about it at all, it was paid off and that was it

i recieved a letter last week with a cheque and a partial refund, stating it was ther ongoing commintment to customers, and have reviwed my circumstances at the time and gave me just under half i paid,

oviuosly im happy as i didnt even think about claiming it back or writing a letter, at a push though do you think i would get it all back if i asked? as it was misold?

Hello Jodi,

it's you choise....You would not loose anything if you give them a ring monday morning and ask them if they give you ....say 75%...or you can start a Subject Access Request root....
I am sure you will get all of it...if you try...

You go girl....

Kind regards,

Itsme

Hello,

They could changed their policy, they could finded out that the agreement is not properly executed...etc...
As so many customers are claiming PPI back...could be anything....

So lucky you...just accept it and decide if you want to go all the way to return everything you paid....

Kind regards,

Itsme

Hiya Jodie,

How lucky are you, a bank with a conscious. Can you tell us what bank it was. If they are prepared to give you back the refund back without a chase, just think what they would give you back with the chase.

Its your call to accept or chase, I say well done and enjoy the dosh,

I bet it was Barclays, my girlfriend just got a cheque and an identically worded statement with it, shes a student and has a student account with them, so therefore I gues the PPI wouldnt apply to her as shes not employed. Looks like Barclays have been searching their records. If she cashes the cheque, will that stop her from claiming the full amount back? doesnt mention anything in the accompaning letter about it being final to accept.
