| Re: PPI Successes I involved the Financial Ombudsman after getting nowhere with the Co-Op Bank. I contacted them in October and received a confirmation of misselling last week. They said I had reached 65 ..and it should not have been sold to me. I am now awaiting a cheque for 2 years premiums plus interest.Result!!!!! I had provided medical evidence to the F.O. Iam now going to claim 2 earlier loans back on medical pre existing conditions.
Iwould like to thank everyone on the site for the encouragement and support, I can't believe I have been able to get so far and to win |

| Re: PPI Successes Been claiming back from Blackhorse. 3 accounts, the first one I tried to cancel after 3 months and they said bogoff, I then sent the a copy of the cancellation request and their bogoff letter (which they kindly included in my Subject Access Request) and got a call yesterday saying they will refund everything from the date of my letter (Jan 2000) to settlement in 2004 at Contractual interest rate and then 8% from then on. I have now calculated the refund (and faxed my figures to them), it is for well over £5000 and worked it out using the CI through the loan and then CI through the loan I took with them to settle the first loan and then CI through the loan I took with them to settle the second loan and then CI through the loan I took with them to settle the third loan and then 8% for the remainder (all these CI added £800 to the total.
My advice is to do the Subject Access Request and check everything very carefully, then just keep at them.
I am off to raise the N1 for the other 2 accounts.
good Luck
I am still going ahead with the other 2 accounts as Mrs DM is self employed and they would never have paid out.

| | Basic Account Customer | Re: PPI Successes Well NatWest have settled. After sending an LBA they paid out the full PPI amount and the intrest applied to the PPI but not the statutory 8%. I probably should have pursued it, but I just was happy with £7000 for the cost of a few stamps! Of course they didn't admit any wrongdoing and it was only a gesture of goodwill!!
Thanks to everybody who helped me out, especially hellhasnofury. |

| | Basic Account Customer | A&L PPI Success Hi,
I thought i would post here that A&L have agreed to refund monies paid for PPI as part of a loan i took out 18 mths ago, i was miss sold as i informed the sales person i had private PP ins, and he insisted that without this being part of the loan i would be refused.
A&L have issued new loan agreements taking off the ppi charge, i am awaiting my returned payment of $550.
I also challanged the first offer as they did not add the 8% interest, they added it without any quibble at all.
thanks |

thanks | Well done to you Julie. And full credit to A&L.
Some banks are going to come out of this with much more credibility than others.

| Re: PPI Successes This is my question, I have cancelled some PPI from my Credit Cards and took a private one. The thing is that I never asked a refund, because I didn't know I could request it, I do remember having to do a cancellation in writting, to Mint Card as they didn't take a cancellation over the phone, and in all this, I don;t remember agreeing conciously to get a PPI when I took the card. I think I am still paying a PPI with the Debenhams card, which it was sold to me by a sales assistant and I don't remember any of this being advise to me. How do I start to get this around, considering that I have been paying this more more than 6 years... |

| Re: PPI Successes Sent 1st letter 8 weeeks ago to the day saying I was didnt want it but was persuaded + I was self employed
They Replied saying you knew what was included, was explained etc.
Sent 2nd letter asking for full list of differences between self employed and employed cover and quoting the missreprasentation act thingy, also threatening to use anything sent as evidence in court.
Today day 56 get a letter offering full refund in the way of £1004.70 clearing arrears on the loan and a cheque for £700, balance on the loan is £2100 so i'm going to ask them to take the lot from the balance and pay the rest off next week. No 8% but tbh i'm in no position to wait any longer and with extra late charges and stuff this is the best way.
No admission of liability just on a goodwill basis. |
