I did in fact attempt to claim and was told i was not covered because I was self employed. I have all the statements except 6 which I asked for. Shall I send in a Subject Access Request request? I dont have the original agreement.
Any advice is very much appreciated |
Hello,
Personally I would send a Subject Access Request asking for all information relating to the account/accounts you have had with this company. Specifically asked for the terms and condition that would have applied at that time. They do change them, so don,t be fobbed off with the most recent ones. Some terms and condition don't apply to the self-employed, but unfortunately some do. (They actually appeared to sell you a policy that was useless, as when you did try to claim, they told you you could not because you were self-employed. Did they ask you if you were self-employed at the time?
If you made an application over the telephone, demand the recorded conversations.
Once you have all the information eventually and they must comply within the 40days, you can then access the situation and start a claim from them.
Be warned they will use any tactic they can to put the blame on you, You signed ,you did not cancel. blah, blah, but your pursue it for justice for yourself.
Good luck
