Hello and welcome,
Do not appear to be rude, but
Why, oh why would they give you half of a refund, because they felt like being nice.
I am not an expert, but personally if they offered me half I would view that as an admission to guilt to mis-selling and they are trying to fob you off with half, If you pursue this you will get it all. I am having this problem with a company who has admitted it, in so many words, and they are just trying to shut me up with a token payment and hope that I will accept it and go away. I won't!!!!
Where are you up to, have you sent your prelim letter asking for the full refund. Is it your letter before action. If they are offering this goodwill gesture at the lba stage, I would start the small claims court.
They have to know that you are serious in this, otherwise accept the goodwill gesture, they win and keep the rest.
I wish you luck and hope that your make the right decision for you
