Default Ppi Void???

I am currently paying a DMP via CCCS.

They have advised me to cancel ANY ppi with all creditors as for the period of the DMP it will not be valid due to making lower pro rata payments to them.

Foolishly as it turns out now I have always thought PPI was a goo thing to have and have almost always taken it out by choice on loans but can never remeber if I did on credit cards or not.

I have paid this ppi for 9 months before cancelling if the PPI has not been valid since the start of the DMP should I be refunded the payments made?

Some of these payments would be well over £500 on some accounts.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome,

I think, but am not an expert, that if you default on the loan the creditor will take the ppi and reduced the loan balance with it.

Hi Laney,
There is no reason that you cannot try to reclaim the premiums already paid, Remember too that you should also claim for Interest on these payments at the agreement Contractual Interest Rate.

You say that the PPI was not Valid at all, why was it not Valid ?, Were you mis-sold the PPI.

You will need to fight for the refund and the more you can throw at them regarding your reasons for demanding a full refund the better it is.

Good Luck
and if you need any help Just shout.

I don't want a full refund I was advised the PPI was void because I am on a DMP and paying lower payments.

Just thinking if it was void then how come I still paid it at the full rate percentage of balance owing the usual terms. If it is void then surely they shouild have stopped adding every month, when there would be no way of it ever paying out if needed.

Please Help!

Had letter today from Shop direct usual terms and conditions rubbish and you have benefited blah blah blah.

Then refund last 3 months premiums has gesture of goodwill?

Why refund 3 months if they are right?

I think I should have the whole 10 months back that they have took knowing they would not pay out if I made a claim and the getsure of goodwill is trying to hide this.

What do you guys think?

If you agree with me I think I may well push this as far as I can to get it back.

Thanks.

Hi Laney,

They are not Right. The 3 months that they are going to refunded you as a gesture of good will, is to keep you sweet and stop you mithering them. Why give you full amount that they have continued to take, when you might shut up for less.

I do not claim to be an expert, but Personally I would go all the way with this. Be like a nasty rash they want to get rid of.

I have not backed down with certain financial companys who have tried to confuse me, they made denials and said that I have signed forms, etc. and refused to take me seriously, But I (yes little me, who for years got deceived out of thousands, because I was trusting, niave and ignorant to the despicable goings on in these companies).. Made them stand up and take notice of ME Have a look at my thread. on a mission v ppi.

Have faith and do believe that these companies are companies out to make money on poor saps like us who give without question. They make me so angrey

Anyway will get off my soap box now, the decesion is your at the end of the day, but why should they have that money

Good luck to you in whatever you decide

The plot thickens.

Having checked my statements from the last 10 months it appears that the refund they hvae now offered me is indeed for the full amount of the last 10 months and not the 3 month gesture of good will as they state in their letter.

It appears I have won this one and this will now give me the confidence to go after all my other creditors with whom I had PPI or payment insurance with and try the same.

I could well be onto a winner here.

Thanks guys for all your advice.
