Dorothy Perkins Store Card PPI appears 6 months later on statements?

Hi requested S.A.R and received statements for a old dorothy perkins account{which I a few months ago reactivated} and noticed PPI account cover premium on the these old statements it have no recollection whatsover of taking this out. Even stranger is my current statement that I have just received does not have this on and if I had agreed to this this would be on the new statement under the agreement. And even more strange is that on the old statements this premium started to be debited 6 months after taking up the card in may 2001 , the statement October 2001 shows a balance WITH NO ACCOUNT COVER PREMIUM on. The remainings statements May - October 2001 are missing, even though the October statement shows a carry over balance from the previous {september missing one}. Then it shows this account premium cover from NOVEMBER ONWARDS and then disappears two months beforl balance paid up Their is 38 months PPI payments taken:o .

I'll be honest I always paid DD and never checked the statements

So this goes along with what I am saying . I never take up PPI on anything and this clearly shows something odd with this suddenly being added to Novembers statement and not Octobers which if I had taken this up would of been on their cos their was a carry over balance from september. {Hope you are not to confused with what I am saying!!!}

I think this could actually be illegal more than misssold , as it just appears from nowhere and I always used to pay by direct debit. What do you think??

I have the same with these people, They sent me my statements altho quite a few are missing! on the early ones dating back to 01 theres no interest added on them and no PPI but there is late payment charges! then suddenly a few years later in dec 2003 they suddenly add PPI and Interest! on to my statements! I find this very strange!

The missing statements these people are not daft either I got my balanck down to under £100 in 2003 then suddenly again in early 2004 it went back up to £125 but these are my missing statements for this area! along with quite a few others!

I've sent off my prelim for charges and PPI to be refunded just waiting to hear from them! with a covering letter also!

I've asked them for proof of where I actually asked for this PPI to be added

I only had a credit limit of £400 And pay it every month altho only about £5.00 but my balance just is'nt going down at all! with there interest and PPI! Its been just over the £100 mark since 2003!

I'll be very interested too in this thread! to see what other people think!

I think we may be onto something here me thinks. I have sent a CCA request, requested front and back and signed. I have not mentioned the PPI on this yet. There is no way this was agreed. Never do it.

Let me know how you get on. Did you charge theme any interest Like contractual?

My claim is only for £250 without interest! But deffinetly be adding it if it goes to court!

They messed me about with my Subject Access Request too all they did was pay the £10.00 off my account I wrote a strongly worded letter saying there 40 days where nearly up and I'd take this further! I got my statements by return within a couple of days .lol

they have untill a week today to reply then there 14 days are up! then it will be LBA time

I'd like to see it go to court really .lol I think we should have a good case for compensation too .lol

Thanks reidnet.. I don't know if it was a case of misselling but more like them adding it to the account without my knowledge. Cos one things for sure never signed or ticked or whatever for this. The reason I want the CCA is to see what was done. This could be quite serious , cos there is only two scenarios in this.
1] the shop assistant added it or they did 6 months later theirself.

1 million percent never taken out !!!

I dont remember asking for this ppi either strange that it appears a few years down the line of my account tho!

I've never took out ppi on any other account so cant see me doing it on this one either!

If the PPI has in fact been added at a later date does look a rather bit suspect, Im sure if it had been down to the shop assistant the PPI would have been added right from the start. Shops and sometimes the assistants themselves recieve a bonus payment for selling the PPI.

The fact that the PPI did not appear for some time after the agreement was in force..well Im not a lover of GE and their tactics etc so can only presume this has been added at their end without your knowledge.

Ge are in big trouble with the FSA regarding this issue, you can see this if you have a look through the full FSA ruling that I posted earlier.

What I would do Personally -- Is GO GET THEM..lol

Yep this is very strange and extremely bad for them. Have to be careful using certain terms at the mo {if you get my drift} but goodness they will have a large claim cos their were 40 PPI amounts !!!

they did the same with me. added on ppi in middle of contract. claim it with contractural interest. got mine back all of it.

Can I ask at what rate of contractual interest you used please if you dont mind? did you have to take it to court too? or did they just pay out without it going to court?

i used 29.9% their interest rate is shocking...i made a court claim but it was settled well before hearing date. as they damn well knew didnt have a leg to stand on. for starters i didnt sign anything and im not in full time employment which is one of the requirements of PPI go for it charge contractural interest.
