| | Basic Account Customer | Not sure how to start? Took a 50k loan over 25 years with intention of paying of in 5 months with a re-mortgage.
PPI was not discussed paperwork came through with it added on 12.4k for 25 years, didnt think much of it cos paying back in 5 months.
Payed off 5 months later PPI early settlement re-imbersed 1.6k this meant i had to pay 10.8k.
This was 2 years ago, have i got any case to fight?  |

Your first move should be to Submit at S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) under section 7 of the Data Protection Act to obtain copies of all the information that they have stored regarding your account. You should also remember to add the fact that you also wish any Transcripts or recordings of any Telephone calls that they have stored.
I have had dealings with Firstplus..lol I found them to be good at supplying the information but they did put up a bit of a fight, but they crapped it before court in my case.
If the loan was in Joint names, make sure you both sign the request.
Here is the address and letter that I used.. Your Name Your Address The Data Controller FIRSTPLUS Financial Group PLC 1 Churchill Place London E14 5HP Date Here.... Data Protection Act 1998 Subject Access Request Dear Sir/Madam[/font] ACCOUNT NUMBER: xxxxxxx Please supply me with copies of all data that you have on record regarding the above account. This should also include all transcripts or recordings of any telephone conversations that are held on record As this account has also been settled in full I would like a full breakdown of all payments made against this account along with full details of how the final settlement figure was calculated I enclose the statutory maximum fee of £10. You have 40 days in which to comply. If there is specific information which you require in order to satisfy yourself as to my identity, please let me know by return. However, please note that the above address is the one which you normally use to communicate my private business to me and which you have hitherto found to be acceptable Yours faithfully, This is the name and Address of the person that Dealt with my complaint Carolynne Smith Complaint Executive Firstplus Financial Group PLC The Avenue Business Park Pentwyn Cardiff CF2 8FF Good luck, and if you need more help Just Shout.. And you can of course claim for the Early Settlement Interest that they will have charged you when you settled the loan early. Ian
