| Re: PPI - Some Notes for Claimants.. Very interesting thread this - I took out an M&S storecard in 1995 and on the application form it asked how many hours I worked. At the time it was under 16 hours so I had to name my partner.Last year I was made redundant and tried to claim on the PPI but was told I could not as my partner was named , not I. This sucks, as the card is in my name, I made all the payments and they must have had about £3,000 of my money.
They have now served me with a default notice. I phoned someone at the FOS and all they said was "that is correct, if your partner is named , he is the one insured." Is there anything I can do ? |

The FOS aren't really helpful I have found to my disappointment, but I have had and have an on-going fight with the mighty M&S. Their not as clever and as mighty as they think
Start a new thread on the ppi forum so I can give you some tips and useful information regarding the mis-sold ppi and the application form

Yes it,s been a bundle of laughs .M&s have been extremely polite so far but they haven't responded to my enquiry as to why they can't pay me my money yet.
I'd be very grateful for your input here.
Many thanks for the response so far. |

Click on the main ppi thread. on the top lefthand side just under the main heading for the consumer forums. You will see a tab with new thread on in, click on that and leave your post.

| Re: PPI - Some Notes for Claimants.. Hi There,
I am about to make a claim against London Mortgage Co.
I was 'sold' a ppi policy for a £35k loan at a cost of £4200 which of course was added at the start of the loan in October 2004.
I repaid the loan in full in January 2006 and they charged me £1814 prepayment penalty but made no mention of refunding the ppi.
I am also self employed.
I paid them £518 for 15 months and still ended up owing them more than I borrowed at the end of it!!
I assume I add all of this info to my initial claim letter??

| | Basic Account Customer | Re: PPI - Some Notes for Claimants.. Hi I have just received a letter from LLoyds Insurance agreeing to refund 3 PPI's. Two of them were with loans that are settled in 2004. One having been added to an 'new loan' and consolidated. I had small refund on that one. They have offered to refund plus interest. I have no problem with this. However, I still have a loan with them for £4015.73. I have been paying this since 2004 and they say I still owe over £3,000. The loan was 5 years. Off course the PPI was a single payment policy. They have agreed to refund the PPI plus interest. My problem is that they have stipulated that they pay this refund into my loan account. This loan is unenforeable. I have requested a copy of the loan agreement and they have not and the enforcement date expired in early July. Has anyone any advice on how to proceed. I would be very grateful. |

Insist that the refund is issued in the form of a cheque made out in your name, or paid direct in to a bank of your choice.
If they refuse, I would remind them that FOS might have something to say about their underhand tactics.
WRT the existing Loan. No valid Credit agreement - no enforceable debt. I would suggest starting your own thread in - http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk.../general-debt/ |
