Hi Muff and welcome to CAG, any help and knowledge that you have on PPI would be a great advantage to us here. I have spent many days and nights reading up on PPI.
There is a lot of reading out there too..lol
Good luck in your claim my..
Just a note since your new member too.. Before you start please have a thorough read of the FAQs (there’s a Step by Step guide here too). You should print both of these out to refer to, so as to avoid having to ask basic questions later.
Then look at other threads in your bank’s forum, so as you know what you can expect to happen
You need to spend 2 or 3 days gradually getting your head round everything. If you find a forum/thread/post of interest, save it in your Favourites, so as you can always find it easily. Here’s one to start with, which you should find useful later: Can't Find What You're Looking For? Here's A Complete A-z Index
There’s a lot to take in, but it’s time well spent and will ensure that you succeed in your claim without problems. Remember it’s not a race, don’t rush, just follow the guidelines one step at a time
This is a self-help forum and you must be prepared to put in time and effort. It is your claim, your money and you cannot expect others to do all the work for you.
When you feel confident that you understand the process and the various stages involved, start a new thread in your bank’s forum and post your progress and any questions there and you’ll get plenty of help
All the info to get you started is here: http://www.consumeractiongroup.c o....se-read-these/
Don’t be afraid to ask for help,, we are all in the same boat.
Good luck Ian |

| | Basic Account Customer | Re: PPI template letter hi guys,
been browsing threads and faqs, as i have both bank and PPi claims with both abbey and halifax.
does any one know if mortgage account charges come under the same principles ? read the faqs i hear people say!
anyway after reading various samples and templates, have come up with this version or the S.A.R - ( Subject Access Request) letter to get details of all accounts
any comments please feel free i should be sending these out in a couple of days.
its a bit long winded but i think it covers the microfich etc...arguments
i have an existing 10,000 loan, with halifax taken out in 2004 with ppi, im doing the mis-sold route with a couple of arguments.
i made a claim on ppi, and was told, no can do as i was dismissed.
phoned to cancel PPi, told to take out new loan with no ppi, oooops! not working means no new loan.
this was followed by them raiding my bank account of £65 to get their premium , now 11p overdrawn.
this is the info on my loan agreement need some help on what to claim. - amount of credit (cash loan) 10,000
- add total charge for credit (cash loan) 2,548.76
- total i pay for cash loan 12,548.76 1+2
- ppi loan ( cash price ppi) 2,364.76
- add total charge for credit for ppi loan 602.96
- total i pay for ppi loan 2,967.72 4+5
- apr 6.5%
- loan 12,364.76
- total charge for credit for loan 3,151.72
- total i pay 15,516.48
- monthly interest 0,511%
- arrangement fee (1% of loan and 1% ppi loan) already included in 2+5
HERE'S A GOOD ONE Y our Right To Cancel 5days
going to browse the spreadsheet templates to see how to work out sched of claim
similar position with abbey for first my first loan although they have accepted my ppi claim on second loan.

| | Basic Account Customer | Re: PPI template letter Hi again ,
thanks for that Reident,
i've sent of my S.A.R - ( Subject Access Request) letters, now this is the preliminary letter for ppi refund that i am sending to to Halifax as my loan is still running my circumstances are slightly different.
but if its good for anybody feel free.
this is the registered offices address, but i will be faxing copies to relavent branches and offices. Halifax Plc Trinity Road Halifax West Yorkshire HX1 2RG Ref: Account xxxxxxxxx Claim for : Refund Of Personal Loan Insurance Payments & Associated Interest. Dear Sir or Madam, On the 15/10/04 I was approved a loan for £10,000, I was advised that as a condition of the loan, a payment protection insurance(PPI) would be part of the loan; as it would insure payments would covered if I were to become unemployed or was unable to work. This was in the form of an additional loan totaling £2,997.72 It is fact that you are not allowed to make(PPI) a condition of a loan. I telephoned to cancel the PPI insurance and was told that this was not possible. I therefore consider that I have been mis-sold this expensive insurance, and request that a full refund of all costs incurred through the aforementioned PPI , including all associated interest. And that the loan agreement schedule and payments be adjusted, to incorporate the removal of all costs associated with PP1and itself as detailed. Quoting from the mentioned Personal Loan Agreement,“If unsatisfactory goods or services are obtained under a transaction financed by this agreement, I have the right to sue the supplier, yourself or both. I would appreciate an immediate response to this letter that will conclude this matter as mentioned. Yours faithfully, Mr M. Gordon
doing another version for abbey now, any bcomments feel free |
