Angry Capital One Ppi Charge

Hi, just joined the forum, i'd just like to ask a couple of questions about what happened to me a few years ago when i had two credit cards with capital one, i was at my limits on both, paying the minimum monthly payments, i'd been with them for about 2-3 years, then one month, i got my statement that said i was overdrawn, this turned out to be because they automatically authorised a payment on the insurance for my credit card! They also charged me for going over my limit as well! I rang them and spoke to an advisor, she said because it was an "automatic" payment it was authorised, even though i didnt know about it, then i said to her, "ok, if i was to go into a shop and spend the same amount on my card, would it be authorised?" her reply, "NO" which i just thought was unfair, anyway, i told her if the charge and the payment were not taken off, then i wasnt going to make any more payments, to cut a long story short, it ended up going to the local county courtautolinker.com autolinking image and i got 2 CCJ's ! Still, when the bailiffs came around, i just told them to go away as i didnt own anything at all apart from my clothes and they left, i still however keep getting letters from different debt collectors regarding the outstanding balances, but i know that they cant do anything, i'm just wondering if they (capital one) were allowed to do what they did and get away with all the stress etc that they put me through!?
Cheers for any advice guys,
Adam.
