Hi again guys, hope you're all still out there to advise on my next course of action. I have received the S.A.R.s from First Plus and there is no paper work about the PPI but i haven't had chance to go through the tapes yet as no tape recorder here in Canada. Anyway, i have just had another thought, as although the loan was taken out with First Plus we went through Loan Maker to get it therefore do i need to send them a S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) also? As i vaguely remember some conversations about PPI but we certainly weren't told of the true cost of it only that we would get something like £17k back. This should all be on a tape somewhere but it could have been with Loan Makers that this conversation took place. The tapes i have received from 1st plus don't have anything written on them about ppi and i'm guessing they won't so do i shell out another £10 to S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) loan makers?
cheers for the help guys and still following Cag even in Canada!

Evening.
For the sake of £10 I would prefer to have everything.
As you were "introduced" it is entirely possible, depending on how your conversations went, that you bought PPI of either party.

In my case, we rang FP direct so don't have this issue.

Good luck and don't give up!

I agree with Braveheart, S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) the broker.

I'm in the same position as you with First Plus and Norton Finance (Broker). FP have said that Norton sold it and passed my complaint to them. Noton have denied mis-selling, so I have sent a S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) to them.

I want to know who to go after?

I don't believe you can claim back the Statutory fee as it is payment to them to provide a service in supplying all the data. Not sure how it would work though if they failed to supply all the data to you and then produced it in Court you could claim then that they took the money and did not fulfill their statutory obligations.

Just a thought.

I got my £10 back when I claimed my bank charges back from First Direct.

I think the logic is along the lines of, if they had not had stiffed you in the first place, you would have had no reason to S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) them! Restitution I suppose
