Default Re: hfc

Hi, sorry to side step from the original thread

ive just recently been looking at a loan which i took out with HFC (beneficial finance) which i had a load of hassle cancelling the PPI. At first they tried to tell me that it was a condition of the loan so i asked them to put that in writing and to show me where it was in the CCA but they couldnt do it. So then in the end they re-wrote the loan without PPI which i was happy with and left with the paperwork (this was about a year ago)

now after a year looking through the original agreement and the re-written agreement i noticed that they added an amount on top which i would presume was an early settlement. I queried this with them, and they said that because i had not cancelled my PPI in time they had not given me a full rebate of rthe PPI.

thats where i had caught them out because i had sent the PPI cancellation letter by recorded delivery within the 30 day cancellation period and still have the slip which i kindly gave them a copy.

futher to that, they sent me a statement of my account which shows that they HAVE given me a full rebate for the PPI meaning that they have added an early settlement therefore contradicting what they had said previously about not giving me a full rebate. what a bunch of idiots !!!!!

i think that they have tried to cover it up that they have added and amout for no reason.

i have asked them to give me the amount added plus the ridiculous amount of interest they have added on top. they offered to re-write my loan to lower monthly repayments keeping the same term to make up the difference and interest accrued, or keeping the same payment and shortening the term by 6 months.

i dont think it acceptable, i think that they should give me some compensation for the hassle caused.

also to add the amount of phone calls ive made and have been promised a call back which have never happened plus letters which have been apparrently been sent out a week ago but they have sent another letter aswell just to make sure i get it!!

i think the company should be labelled joke of the year

Do you think that i would be able to get away with asking them to give me compo or even halving my loan if i threaten to report them to the ombudsman or take legal action as it is clear that they were in the wrong and have added an extra amount for no apparent reason

any help would much be appreciated

thanks
