Default Income Protection Plans-Does anyone know of a good one ?

Hi Folks,

I am considering taking out Income Protection for a number of reasons.
Does anyone know of a good honest plan that actually pays up if you need it !! I have looked at a few but the T&Cs take longer to read than the plan pays out for !!

I am particular thinking of 'Redundancy Protection' as I live in what is called a Tied House, i.e. the house goes with my job. No job = no house and no money for rent :o

Thanks for reading

Lex

You would probably be best to go through one of the price comparison sites, as they do tend to highlight the main conditions and exclusions. At the end of the day though, you do need to check all the details fully, or seek proper and regulated independent advice.

mr Lex try independent insurance or british insurance both featured on the ITV tonight show who deal with PPI and are cheaper. They both have websites and a google search will have some information and contact details. Or as Alan has said do the above.

Thanks for that Alan and Vortex, I will be looking at those options tomorrow.

My main concern is to find a company that pays out when you need it. I am very concerned when dealing with any form of PPI that they are happy enough to take your money, but reluctant to pay out if you have to make a claim. I may be cynical, but I just don't believe in 'Independent' financial advisers. They will always try to sell you the policy that rewards them the best

Thanks for your input folks,

I will let you know how it goes.

Lex

You can try Payment Protection Insurance to cover a mortgage, loan or income from British Insurance or simply try a comparison on moneysupermarket, moneyextra etc etc. Most will have similar exceptions/limitations but select your options with premium vs benefits.
