Full SAR for ppi

Hello,

There have been a few request for S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) templates on the forum lately.

This is the one that I have sent, specifically asking for all information and this included ppi. You have to literally spell it out for them, because this is the information they really don't want you to have. Best to send a £10 postal order with it for the fee payable under the Data Protection Act

Please supply me with a complete list of transaction and charges relating to my history with your organization, INCLUDING Loans and or credit cards, payment protection insurance and other products. Alternatively a complete set of statements for the accounts or associated accounts is acceptable. I would be grateful if you would provide the following for ALL accounts or associated accounts I have held with your organization:
-Full copies of all contracts which you believe exist or have existed between myself and your organization, including true copies of any documents you hold in support of the same.

- A complete list of all transactions or statements relating to ALL of my Loan Accounts and or credit card with your organization.

-Copies of all documents which include any of my personal information including copies of any contacts or invoices, emails or computer records containing my personal information, or any records which pertain to this information.

-Full copies or transcripts of any correspondence in postal, email or any other format which you have entered into with any individual, organization or third party which contains my personal or financial, or which pertains to me.

- Where any previous information or records held have been deleted or disposed of, the methods used to do so, including dates, certificates or references confirming details of destruction. Where you are unable to provide such certificates, please provide a declaration, signed by an authorised officer of your company, confirming the dates and methods of destruction of this data.

-Full hard copy print outs of my personal or financial information, held in a digital, magnetic or any other format which is held in any archives, backups or other storage devices / locations.

I enclose a cheque in the sum of £10 to cover your fee.

IF YOU UNABLE TO DEAL WITH THIS REQUEST, YOU SHOULD IMMEDIATELY FORWARD IT TO THE PERSON WITHIN YOUR ORGANISATION RESPONSIBLE FOR DATA PROCECTION.

They have 40days to comply under the Data Protection Act, but do be nice and allow some time for postage. Which should always be by recorded delivery, so you can prove that they did receive it.

	Subject Access Request A Subject Access Request is a demand which you can make to any organisation to disclose any personal information which they hold on you. The right to disclosure of data is provided by the Data Protection Act. There is no time limit. The organisation is obliged to reveal everything they have about you - which you ask for - as far back as you ask for. There are very few exceptions. It does not matter whether the data is held on microfiche, in an archive, on tape, in a cardex system, in sound recordings or in screen notes. Some companies are saying that they do not have to disclose where it would be difficult to do so - "disproportionate effort". This is untrue. Disproportionate effort refers to something else under the Act. If you are seeking bank charges information then you should ask for "all data held on you" and you should make it clear that you want everything as far back as it goes. Do not be put off by excuses. Do not accept being fobbed off. It is not in your bank's interest to make full disclosure to you. This means that it is in your interests to get it. If you have not started gathering your bank charges information yet, then you should start now. There will soon be a big rush once the OFT test case has been settled. Get all of your bank account informtion as far back as possible. At least as far back as 1995. If your bank says that they don't keep data as far back as this, don't accept it. Be persistent. They've got what you need in some form or other.

HHNF for site helper gets my vote too. I dont know where I would be without her help and support. She has helped so many people with their PPI claims as well as dealing with her own.

ty so much for this, I didn't know where to start as the loan was taken out by my husband while we were seperate for a while and I dont know how he managed to be accepted, but this way I can get all the information off the company themselves ty so so much

PPI is normally arranged via separate organisations, does this letter go to the bank or the separate PPI organisation?

Whoever sold it to you They are the ones that they made the profit on it for their unjust enrichment. These policies were sold on a lets make commission or reach target basis, and millions of pound were made in profit for these companies and banks. Did I just say that pppfffttt

Should the loan application and/or loan agreement form show what percentage of the monthly repayment is PPI and what is the loan repayment?

The loan agreement is what you need to look for. This document is required to specify the amount that you have borrowed together with any anciliary charges which have been added to the loan. This will include total interest payable, your monthly payments and any insurance products you may have attached to the loan.

	Are you letting your bank keep your money Are you giving away thousands of pounds?? Many people aren't claiming all of the money they are entitled to when they make their bank charges claims. You have been forced to pay unfair bank charges. Have you forgotten that your bank has charged you inteest on those charges? If you are overdrawn and the bank owes you charges - then your overdraft is made up of charges - money which you bank owes you. Yet you are paying interest to the bank - on your own money!!! I have submittes your Subject Access Request and the bank still has not got back to me. I sent the letter 16 days ago. What should i do? I have also noticed that although i cancelled my PPI 2 months ago, the bank is still charging me this protection cover.

Help me out please

Just wondering would this include recording of telephone calls, Egg are saying they cant find mine.

They have 40days to comply, so tick, tock. I would also write again to them and remind them that you cancelled the ppi two months ago and you wish written confirmation that they have done so Can you post your questions on your thread, so that we can see the whole picture on it please

The information they should provide is all information, this includes any recordings of telephone calls and transcripts of these calls.

If they do not have them, don't be discouraged, it may be more to your advantage, in that they have no proof

The reason for asking was to get the call have a look at my other thread where the FOS have turned me down

	The Financial Ombudsman Service For the most part, don't bother. The Ombudsman is an industry arranged service which is under-resourced, takes too long, lacks clear transparency. You have no idea what evidence the FOS has received from the bank or how your complain has really been handled. The FOS is the preferred complaints route for the banking industry. The county court is to be preferred by consumers for its speed, openness, the quality of its awards and also because it will award 8% interest on top of any damages won by you. The Ombudsman should normally be used to solving little technical difficulties or customer service problems which you have expereinced with your bank.
