How Long does the warden need to observe your car...

before handing out a ticket?

I got a ticket at 8.32am on a residents bay that started at 8.30am

had a feeling that they have to observe your car not parked in observance with the laws for a certain minimum time before ticketing

can anyone help?

Some parking contraventions are an instant penalty e.g. parking in a no loading zone offence code 1, whereas others need to be observed e.g. parking where loading is allowed, to ensure the activity is taking place. I am not sure about parking in a residents bay.

My point is it will vary depending on the offence and - I think - council policies.

In this case, the simple fact that you were parked in a residents parking bay at a time which was prohibited to those without a residents parking permit, is enough to warrant the immediate issue of a ticket.

what abot if u got a parking ticket, outside a shop, but it had expired by 13mins by the time u got to the car and u had gotten a ticket?

Then there is no need for an observation time. The contravention is complete as soon as the ticket expires.

Foe example if your ticket expires at 14:35, then you can be ticketed at 14:36
