Default No Consumer Rights if you live in Westminster

Recently I took out an insurance policy for repairs and replacements to my satellite dish. The first time I needed to make a claim, the insurance company decided to cancel it because the repair person could not find anywhere legal to park near where I live.

Countless times I have had visits by tradesmen (for example plumbers or engineers) I had booked cancelled or postponed for the same reason.

I do not drive and see little reason to drive if you live in central London. However I can see why tradesmen would need a car to carry their equipment and why they would not want to have to carry it for a long distance.

Do I have a case against the satellite dish insurance company or against my council or both? Nothing in the insurance contract mentioned the right to cancel the contract because of parking problems.

I think they're extracting the urine. I live in westminster and whilst I'm not exactly happy with the parking situation, it is legal for a tradesman to turn up outside your house on a single yellow or residents bay, unload and then go and park up in a proper metered bay.

Loading and Unloading is allowed for 20 minutes as long as it's continuous.
