Default Should I Have Got My Parking Ticket?

Hello,

I have a permit for my road. at the end of my road there are two spaces that state 1 hour parking. I have parked in these spaces many times before as my permit allows me to park in any legal spaces down my street. often i have left my car there 3 or 4 days and never recieved a ticket, even though traffic wardens are very common down my street.

till today that is.

Should I have got my parking ticket?

So there was no blue P or anything else on the sign?

Without wishing to sound rude but if you want accurate advice you need to properly decribe the circumstances, details are crucial. The blue 'P' on its own indicates parking is for anyone with or without a permit for one hour at the times stated. If you received a code 30 'parking longer than permitted' its a valid PCN if you did indeed park over one hour. The reason you probably have not got a ticket before is probably just luck and depends on the area and the way its patrolled. To enforce a one hour bay requires writing down all the vehicles in the bay each time you visit and returning at regular 1hr intervals which may not be possible, or high on the PAs list of priorities (or he may just be lazy!).

If I had given you advice based on your original post that the sign contained only 'monday to saturday 8am -6pm 1hour no return within 1 hour' it would been that it was a non compliant sign as it was missing the blue 'P' !

every sign i have ever seen for PARKING has a blue P on it to show that it is a legal space to PARK in, wether it be for a permit only space free space or a 1 hour space.

what is rude is that people come on here for advice because they are unsure of something. they dont expect to get things thrown back at them or made to feel like an idiot. you could have quite easily asked if there was a p on the sign if this is what you wanted to know without adding the bit at the beginning.

but as I said before thank you for your advice, i now know that i made a mistake and can pay the fine without feeling hard done by.
