Parking Ticket Advice plse

A friend parked on the road in a private gated housing complex as visitor car park was full It was 21.00 on a wet and dark March night so didnt see parking restriction notice [only one on entrance gate]and no yellow lines etc
No parking ticket was issued at the time then 2 weeks later PCN came in post
Notice states "you are liable to charge even if you were not the driver at the time "
"parking charge £100 must be paid within 21 days £50 if paid within 14 days rising to £150 if not paid within 21 days then passed to debt collection agency "

Hi Welcome to the forums.

You need to make sure that this is a private parking "ticket" (invoice) and not a council/tfl issued one. These will have the words Penalty Charge Notice and the Road Traffic Act 1991 as amended somewhere on the top of the notice.

Given this was on a private road this sounds like a private parking ticket. Have a read of this guide which you can find in the stickies section at the top of the forum. You'll also find the template letters in the same section. Use those to respond.

BTW the only person that can be held liable for a private parking invoice is the driver at the time.
