Default parked on a down kerb

i live opposite a large industrial estate and one of the gates has been bared shut for over £15 years. there is a down kerb for that entrance but as its not in use i park there.
lately a traffic warden has started to issue me with tickets.
there is no sign and no markings on the road. all there is, is a down kerb with bared up gates

After 15 years it must be overgrown so this is proof if ever it was needed that the sole purpose is to make as much money as possible.

As advised in another thread, take pictures to prove your point and maybe get a letter from the company behind the locked gates that they do not use them any longer and haven't for 15 years and send that with your appeal.

No markings are required its a contravention to park next to a lowered kerb (unless its to your property) unless unloading or loading.

clapton does not say what parking offence is on the tickets, but only describes where his car was.
Knowing the actual alleged contravention might throw more light.

green and mean is correct. It is an offence to park at a lowered kerb. No markings are required. The fact that the gate hasn't been in use for years won't make any difference. Sorry
