| | Basic Account Customer | UK Parking Enforcement Agency, Parking Ticket Hello there
This is my first post on this forum, hope ive out it in the right space. Any way here it goes:
Whilst at college i got a parking ticket, £60 (a bit steep for 17-18 year olds in my opinion). I admit i parked where i shouldn't etc.
But lately ive been hearing about all the tickets, that if any part of the slip is filled out wrong, that the ticket then becomes invalidated?
I would like to know, as on the slip it says 'Please underline all numbers' and none of them appear to be underlined. Ill post a copy of the slip so you can have a look. If you could find proof that i can get away with it, please could you post it, or pm me the links so i can give it to the college.
Heres a copy of the slip (i edited out my registration number for the good reason :P also with the main bit outlined) #
Hopefully you can help me!!
Also about 1 month ago i got a parking ticket from the local supermarket, at the time, one sign said there was a 2 hour no return policy, while another practically just round the corner, said no return within 3 hours. I took picutres of these, and sent them to the firm, does this mean that i should get my money back?
Cheers

Fletchie | Hi Fletchie, Welcome to the forums.
You might have grounds for appeal for an incorrectly filled out Penalty Charge Notice or Fixed Penalty Notice. However what you have here is an invoice for a breach of contract for parking on private land. Unlike a Penalty Charge Notice as issued by the local council etc, this ticket has no legal backing and is pretty much uneforcable. It doesn't matter if its filled in correctly as soon as you point out the error they'll just amend it and send you another.
Have a read of this guide and then have a read of the template letters. They will show you the validity of this invoice and how to respond to it. Wait for the PPC to write to you as the Registered Keeper. It will cost them £2.50 from the DVLA.
Also note that this is a civil matter. The onus of proof lies with the PPC and you don't have to provide them with any information. You certainly don't have to incriminate yourself.
What you will probably get is lot of threats including Debt Collectors, Credit Ratings and Court Action (small claims court). Don't panic when you see these threats, they are just that threats. It is extremely unlikely that they will take you to court. A very small number of case do go to court (and I mean about .0001%). If they do take you to court is likely they will lose with a properly presented defense.
If you have any questions please post back. |

| The question is whetehr you will, rather than whether you should. If you don't ask you can't get, but don't give up too easily. Look around here for similar threads, and be prepared to threaten them right back. |

Ive been reading up, from these forums and others but the posts go back to 2006, but the ticket on it doesn't state Date of Issue, does that mean anything??
