Default euro car parks

please advise . i got a parking ticket for £70 in Feb i payed 2 days later on their website which said i only needed to pay £30 because i was paying on time. i have now recieved a letter from them saying i owe them £70 . i have proof of paying £30 with my bank statement. are they up to some kind of scam i dont know about? the only way to contact them is by mail, no telephone number and anyway i dont see why i should have to bother, how far will this go if i just ignor every thing they do .
thank you in advance for any replies.

Just write to them explaining the mistake made when paying on-line and enclose proof of payment.

Just to be clear, was this a council parking ticket or a private car park? I'm assuming it was a private car park, in which case you didn't need to pay at all, and you certainly don't need to pay a penny more
