Default Parking Attendants too eager

I feel around where I live the parking attendants are just slightly too eager to get their daily quota of tickets.. Im sure they run bets on who can get the most during the day.
By not checking all windows and checking dashboards many tickets are given unnecessary, hence wasting tax payers money in the proceed.
My son received two tickets on the same day on two cars that both had valid permits, but due to the condensation in his car they had fallen off, his cars wernt the only ones that were targeted, if the PA had looked closely they would have seen the permit face up on the dash in both cars as im sure on many of the other cars that this had happened too, I can imagine that PA got his quota in my street alone. When he called the council he was told to write in and explain but he may still have to pay for the PCN if they feel that there wasnt enough evidence to back his claim up ??????? I just dont understand how these peoples minds work.

I watched out of my kitchen window which over looks a council carpark the other day as I often do and saw a car park, pay for his ticket, then leave suddenly returning about 5 minutes later parked in the same spot and went off towards the market, with in seconds of him leaving a rather rotund PA ran over slapped a ticket on his car with out even checking the side windows, took front and back photos then left. I could see from my kitchen window that there was a little white ticket to show the man had paid, but she was to eager to slap on a ticket to even notice. Unfortunately I didnt see the man come back to see he had a PCN on his car, but I was very tempted to have words with the PA and pull her up on her mistake. I hope the man appealed.
Sorry just having a rant as Im so mad with the whole council and their parking sevises as Im now awaiting for my PCN (another given to me by mistake) to be dealt with

Default Re: Parking Attendants too eager

Hiya seanamarts

We got a parking ticket a couple of weeks ago when we were in our local town. My hubby has a van and because of the height of it is unable to get under the barriers of both local car parks. I needed to go to the chemist so he had stopped to drop me off outside there. I was struggling to walk due to a bad back so he escorted me in. As he was doing so a parking attendant was slapping a ticket on his van for being on double yellow lines.

OK we were in the wrong to be on double yellow lines BUT what really naffed us off was that when my hubby went up to him to ask him WHERE he should park in the area with his van due to there being barriers everywhere he got greeted with "you are obstructing me in my line of duty" !!

How the h*ll can asking a question be "obstructing him" ???

My hubby was not rude, he just asked him where on earth someone with a van like him was supposed to park if you can't get on the car park and could he please tell him, to which he was then greeted with "you are standing in my space, please move or I will call the police".

What planet are these pillocks on?

There have been so many complaints around here about the "attitude" of these people. No wonder the general public have a low opinion of parking attendants when they can't even be bothered to answer a civil question

So the motto obviously is "do not speak to us - we are holier than thou" grrrr, and yes I do believe what you say about them seanamarts, after our encounter nothing would surprise me as to how they behave!

Love SG x
