Wrong Registration on a PCN

Hi, iam new here and whilst ive taken a look around the site iam still not sure this is the right place to post...apologies in advance if iam wrong.


Anyway, was doing a job in a block of flats displaying ' residents parking only between 12-2pm'. I was parked at 12.30pm and left a note that i was going to the flat to get a permit and would be 5 mins

Got up to the flat, was speaking to the occupier when i saw this wally writing/ typing a ticket ... i rushed down the stairs and shouted for him to 'wait'.

Anyway, he said that hed been watching me and that id been over 5 mins and that i still didnt have apermit to show ( in the rush i didnt get one off of the occupant).

Allsorts of abuse followed, mainly by me lol, but cut a long story short, he got in his car and drove off. When id cooled down i noticed that he has missed the first letter of my vehicle registration off of the ticket although i know for a fact that he took photos cos i saw them.

My question is this...will they still try and enforce this ticket even tho they have the wrong vehicle registration? or , when they realise they have the wrong info on the ticket, will they cross check it against the photos and issue a new one???


Any advice would be extremely welcome....dont want these gorillas getting their hands on the account and adding phantom charges.

Who issued the ticket 'wally' and 'gorilla' is not very informative if you need advice?

If it was a council ticket then I can't help you.

If it was a private ticket from a parking company then look at the guide at the top of the forum.

Thank you very much for directing me to those other threads=), had a lil look and understand the procedure more clearly now..... kinda feel a bit easier too altho, i know he took pictures and cant seem to see any reference to pictures in those posts suggested....also, is it me or are the replies made on this thread not visable to me? lol

ah, can see the replies now, must have been a delay....

the ticket was issued by a local authority parking attendant (aka wally)

the gorillas i refer to are the enforcement people ( if i did nothing about paying the charge etc)

If it is a Council PCN with the wrong VRM on it has technically not been issued to your vehicle so you are not liable. I would however keep it just incase they decide to try to correct the error at a later stage but make no contact until then with the Council.
