Parking Fine- Wrong Reg No, Pay?

I have recieved a parking fine but the reg no wrong- the second letter should be Y but has been printed as X. The fine was put on my windscreen so surely if they dont have the right reg no then they can't find my address so I don't have to pay it? But apparently ticket wardens have cameras now and take photos of the offence, so would of he taken a photo of my reg no plate? Can I get away with it, or is there evidence I don't know about? Any advice?

There will be others who can give you definitive advice, but I think regardless of the photos, if the ticket is incorrect then you don't have to pay. AFAIK details on the ticket cannot be changed retrospectively.

They can't chase the Rk from the VRM because it is wrong on the PCN.

They cannot retrospectively issue a PCN as it must be affixed to the vehicle or handed to the driver - it can't be posted later (except from CCTV in London only)

That said, if they track you down from the VRM in the photograph, they can't issue a valid Notice to Owner.

Just ignore it.

Ditto Pats comment. I had the same, E should have been F. I ignored it & it came to nothing.
