have received a parking ticket for parking on a single yellow line, but someone said that the line can not be broken in any way if so it makes the line useless, the break in the line is 6ft, can i still be prosicuted?

My understanding is that if the line is broken at all, it does not comply with TRO (Traffic Regulation Orders) as they state "no variations", and hence is unenforceable.

I'm sure someone will correct me if it's otherwise...

you need to photograph the line concerned for evidence and as long as it does not have short 90deg lines at the breaks, then you are quite correct, the fee is unenforceable.

there are many threads on this, do some reading
the more you read the better
