Default Red Light Ticket

Hi,
I've been looking at some of the posts on here and they say that the letter for the offence has to be received within 14 days. It does not specify whether this is 14 working days or literally 14 days after. Which is correct?

Thanks

The first NIP of any chain must be served on the registered keeper within 14 calendar days of the alleged offence.

This does not apply where the DVLA do not have the correct address, nor where the NIP arises from an accident nor where a verbal notification was given at the time by a Police officer.

Thanks for quick reply. Would the letter say if they did not have the correct address? The offence occured only a few days after I had got the car.

Then they would be unlikely to have the correct address - it would have gone in the first instance to the previous RK. This provided them with reasonable excuse not to comply with the 14 days requirement.

The home and address will be on your V5 - contact the last RK and ask...
