Hi guys, just a quick question. I am going to appeal a parking ticket I received and just wanted some feedback if possible.
I was parked on a yellow line on a Saturday (to make a collection - was gone for approx 5 mins). There was a sign that I missed next to the car which states no loading mon-sat. However, I noticed in the FAQ to Westminsters Enforcement Protocol, it states that a road needs BOTH a timeplate and kerb markings. As there were no kerb markings on this road. I thought it may make the pcn invalid. I take it that kerb markings are yellow lines that go from the road to the pavement.
The text is:
Quote:
What’s the difference between loading restrictions and
parking restrictions?
On single or double yellow lines with no kerb markings you are not
allowed to park, but you are allowed to make a delivery or
collection.
In some locations, however, security or traffic flow conditions
dictate that we can not allow vehicles to stop even for a short time,
so no loading or unloading is permitted there. These locations are
usually single or double yellow lines with kerb markings and a
timeplate showing the time that the loading ban applies.
Equally, no loading or unloading is permitted in Suspended,
Disabled or Diplomat bays, Taxi Ranks or Bus Stops, or on
Pedestrian Crossings and their zigzags.
