 can anyone explain what happens next ?

would appreciate any info on what happens next ? , Son in law been in trouble with police, in sept 07 ,had his car taken to the police compound due to having been found with 2g of amphetamine and 2 knifes which he has explained the reason for having, 2 electric power tools and a sat nav , cheapest version, car was all legal , but after a domestic with er indoors went for a drive round early morning 3.30 am , was stopped and searched whereupon the above was found , arrested him and took him to police station, had his car impounded middle sept, have given him car tax back and items from his car, and said that they were holding the car until court case and would be asking judge for forfeiture of the vehicle for proceeds of crime.
He attended court last week adjourned until this week, whereupon the Judge ordered forfeiture of the illegal substance and forfeiture of the knives, he was given 2yr conditional discharge plus costs, nothing was mentioned about the vehicle by either the prosecution or his solicitor, but having phoned the police about his vehicle he has been told that they are awaiting the judges decision, which if not mentioned as he told them is very unlikely to happen.
As the Judge has only ordered the forfeiture of the knives and illegal substance where does he stand about his vehicle, tools and belongings confiscated being returned as I have struck a definate blank , with the police and his uncooperative solicitor any info appreciated on this one ?????. |
