Final Notice for no train ticket but my details all wrong Hi
I was hoping to get some advice.
End July I travelled from a London station into Kings Cross.
I did not buy a ticket, which I agree was woring, but this was for the simple reason that I wanted to jump on the train that had just pulled in and pay on it - something I do every week when commuting from my home town to work.
Having been stopped, I explained the circumstances in a very polite manner but my reasoning fell on deaf ears. I gave some details.
Now I have a Final Notice, having not received the first or second ones. These are the facts - the letter is addressed to a completely wrong address and only slightly resembles the address where my folks used to live and where I lived over 3 years ago. The street name, Town, Postcode are all wrong.
I am by far no dishonest individual, but rather feel very keen to fight this one because of the way I was treated when stopped.
Do I have grounds to say that it was not me who was stopped? I suppose I can do this but would the train people check CCTC footage? Would they really go that far? If so, I will pay forthwith. If not, I will challenge it.
Thank you for any comments
