Default Ikea

I just had to call them as they owe money to the company I work for.

After being passed about several times on the phone, I spoke to a guy and this is how the conversation went.

Him: can I help you?

Me: Yes, could I speak to accounts payable?

Him: no

Me: Ok, is there anyone who can help with unpaid invoices?

Him: no

Me: I need to speak to someone about an unpaid invoice, perhaps you could provide me with a name, number, or method to chase this up.

Him: no

Me: So is there no one in your company that can help

Him: that’s correct; it is not our policy to help with this type of query.

Me: That’s ridiculous. Can I take your name please?

Him: No, my ID number is 12104

Me: I didn't ask for your ID number, I asked your name.

Him: Ok, it's Tim

Me: and your surname?

Him: I'm not going to tell you that.

Me: OK Tim, can you put me through to your manager?

Him: No

Me: Tim is it not your policy to help with enquiries

Him: No, that would be illogical

That would be illogical???? I gave up!

This is just shocking :o

It must be some cleaner who picked up the phone and decided to play some kind of joke.

Which lets face it, isn't funny. I'm sure their call logging records can trace who answered the phone

Sorry I didn't get back on this. It was relating to an unpaid invoice from the company I work for. My MD put in a complaint to the account manager we deal with in Ikea, who was taking the matter further. He took it pretty seriously.

There was me thinking that sort of attitude was just for the people in returns.. sounds like they all go to the same class in the Ikea school of (lack of?) manners.

Please keep the thread updated if you hear anything further, I'd love to know who this 'Tim' bloke is/was
